Seven Day Retreat at Kasteel de Berckt - December 2020
|Date||Saturday 28th November to Saturday 5th December 2020|
|Address||Kasteel de Berckt, de berckt 1, 5991PD Baarlo (Limburg), Netherlands - Map & Directions|
The winter retreat will take place at Kasteel de Berckt, set in natural and tranquil surroundings of its own extensive grounds. The castle was first built in the 13th century and was used from 1900 till 2000 as a monastery and will provide simple and comfortable accommodation for our stay. Located at the Mosa River, you can take beautiful walks in all directions.
The retreat begins with dinner on the first day followed by a short welcome and the first meeting. There will be two meetings on each full day, finishing with lunch on the final day. Morning meetings consist of silent and guided meditation; afternoon meetings are dialogues with Rupert.
There are a few types of accommodation available. There are single, double, twin and shared rooms. Doubles should be booked in couples with two tickets. Shared rooms have three beds per room and will be allocated by gender, as will twin rooms unless you book as a couple in a double or twin room, in which case you will be put together in the same room. Please note that couples need to book two tickets to secure a room together. If you wish to share a room with a friend please make a note, when booking, with whom you would like to share and we will do our best to make sure you are together.
We also have a commuter option available. The ticket price includes lunch and dinner for the duration of the retreat. Please note that this ticket type does not include accommodation and is suitable only for those staying in the local area who would like to come to the meetings each day.
No dogs are permitted at the venue. Please also note that camper vans cannot be used to sleep on site.
From the airport, you can hire a car to drive you to the castle or you can take the train to either the Venlo or Roermond train stations. Both stations will take you to Bus 77. This bus has a stop just in front of the Castle. It’s a three-minute walk from the bus stop to the castle.
